The Land: Some land carries a story worth telling. The property that is now Double E Heritage Ranch was homesteaded by the Elliot family in the 1830s in rural northern Santa Rosa County — the same family that developed the Elliot pecan tree right here on this soil. Before that, the Spanish Trail cut through as a buffalo path, and Creek Indians called this land home before eventually settling alongside early white settlers. The Elliots and the Ellises were among those descendants. When the Ellis family founded My Father's Arrows, it was this land they came back to. You can't make more land. You can, however, be faithful with what you've been given.
The Name: Double E. Two families. One piece of ground. A name that honors where this land has been and points toward where it's going.
The Ranch Today: Double E Heritage Ranch is a working ranch — foundation quarter horses, heritage breed livestock, heirloom gardens, and the kind of daily work that builds character whether you're eight years old or forty. We raise, grow, and produce here because we believe the old ways are sometimes the best ways, and because someone has to protect what's being lost as suburbs swallow the farmland around us.
The People: Jason and Sarah Ellis have lived and worked this land their entire lives. More than thirty years of horses, cattle, and ranch life. Their children compete in local rodeo events. This isn't a lifestyle they discovered — it's one they've never left. That authenticity is what Double E is built on.
The Mission Behind the Ranch: Double E Heritage Ranch exists to sustain itself and to sustain something bigger. Every horse sold, every product purchased, every visit to this property helps fund the work of My Father's Arrows — a children's home serving kids affected by trauma. The ranch is therapeutic, educational, and deeply purposeful. Kids who live here learn that food doesn't come from a store, that hard work produces real results, and that the land rewards those who tend it faithfully.
